Rotary UN Day/ ноябрь 2014
Each year on the first
Saturday of November the Rotary UN Day is celebrated. This is the way for both the UN and Rotary to
recollect a day back in 1945 when 11 prominent Rotarians participated in the UN
Charter development during the San Francisco Conference.
Last Saturday on November 1st, 2014 more than 1,200 Rotarians, Rotaractors and youth representatives took part in the RI UN Day at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The WHD Representative Elena Milyaeva visited the Headquarters on the Rotary Day which proved to be of a high interest for her as a Rotary Moscow District member.

Participants of the Rotary UN Day were
involved in various panels and discussions on topics closely related to the UN
Millennium Development Goals and to the agendas of such international NGOs as Rotary
Club and WHD Foundation as well, including economic development, human rights,
water, health, polio eradication, literacy, and youth projects.

Rotary International serves as a Non-Governmental Organization holding a Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)as well as the World Human Dimension Foundation which has a Special Consultative status with the ECOSOC and the accreditation to the Department of Public Information.
Rotary International
underlines the importance of the strengthening a UN global impact through creating
forging links and wide dissemination of information on the United Nations. WHD shares those ideas to a great extent like many other NGOs worldwide.

День Ротари в ООН отмечается ежегодно в первую субботу ноября. Так ООН и Ротари отдают дань одиннадцати выдающимся Ротарианцам, которые принимали участие в создании Хартии ООН на конференции в Сан-Франциско в 1945 г.

В этом году, 1-го ноября 2014-го года, более 1200 членов Ротари-клуба
приняли участие в праздновании Дня Ротари в штаб-квартире ООН в Нью-Йорке. Для
представительницы Фонда WHD Елены Миляевой, посетившей Штаб-квартиру ООН в День Ротари,
мероприятие было особенно интересным в том числе и как для члена Московского Дистрикта
Ротари.

Участникам Дня Ротари была предоставлена возможность посетить многочисленные
конференции и семинары, проводившиеся в этот день в Штаб-квартире. Тематика
обсуждений была не только связана с Целями Развития Тысячелетия ООН, но и непосредственно
близка к повесткам дня таких международных неправительственных организаций как
Ротари-клуб и Фонд WHD: экономическое развитие, права человека, водные ресурсы,
вопросы здравоохранения и образования, молодежные проекты.
Rotary
International
является
Неправительственной Организацией, имеющей Консультативный Статус при
Экономическом и Социальном Совете ООН (ЭКОСОC). Фонд World Human Dimension обладает Специальным Консультативным
статусом при ЭКОСОC, а
также аккредитован при Департаменте Общественной Информации ООН.
Ротари подчеркивают значимость укрепления глобального влияния ООН через создание связующих звеньев и широкое информирование
о деятельности Организации Объединенных Наций. WHD наравне со многими другими НПО по всему миру в значительной степени разделяет эти идеи.
